Who We Are

Founded in 1955, Walsall Operatic Society is a vibrant and friendly society with a strong reputation for producing outstanding musical theatre.  Though our members come from a range of different backgrounds and cover a huge age range (7 – 70), they share the same passion and are dedicated to staging only the highest quality productions.

WOS are always looking to make new friends who want to get involved in our productions.  From performing on stage through to backstage, marketing and front of house roles, there are many opportunities for anyone who wants to take part.

If you’d like more information or just want to come and have a go, we’d love to hear from you!

What We Do

WOS stage a minimum of 2 productions per year.

  • A major musical which runs at the Garrick Theatre, Lichfield for a week each March (6 performances).
  • A major concert which runs each September at both Forest Arts Centre in Walsall and the Garrick Theatre, Lichfield.

Other concerts take place at a variety of venues throughout the year.

Rehearsals take place each Thursday from 7.30 – 10pm at Forest Arts Centre, Walsall (for directions, please see the map below).  Additional rehearsals may be called on Tuesday evenings.

As performance dates approach, the company is required for band calls and technical rehearsals at the venue.  These usually take place on the weekend before the first performance, with the dress rehearsal usually scheduled for a Monday evening.
