Rehearsals.
Rehearsals will take place each Tuesday and Thursday. An occasional Sunday rehearsal will also be added as we approach show week. Ahead of us starting, a rehearsal schedule will be produced which details who will be called for each session. This will be produced as far ahead as possible but amendments and additional details will be added with plenty of notice.
Please make sure that you check the WOS website regularly.
Production information will only be published on the WOS website (no social media) to avoid confusion and to make sure that everyone is getting the most up to date information.
Holidays.
Rehearsals will continue from March up until our show week at the beginning of October. If you are going to miss any rehearsals because of holiday, please can you fill in the holiday form as soon as possible, stating the start day and end day of your holiday. This will help us to ensure our rehearsal schedule is the most efficient it can be.
Costume.
Towards the end of the rehearsal period, a ‘Wardrobe Session’ will be arranged for costumes to be tried on and fitted. During this time, you will try on all of your costumes for the show and these will be seen by the production team to ensure everything is correct and the show is looking its best.
Once the production team are happy, the cast will need to sign out their costumes to confirm that they have received everything.
Following the final performance, cast members will then need to sign their costumes back in to confirm that everything has been returned and is ready to send back to the costume supplier.
If any costume is missing or damaged at this point, it will be the cast member’s responsibility to pay any fees incurred.
Attendance.
At WOS, our aim is for our members to have fun and enjoy taking part in musical theatre. However, we are also very proud of the excellent reputation that we have and always aim to produce shows that are of the most professional standard possible. Hairspray is a demanding show and as such, the committee and production team require all members of the cast to be fully committed.
Though we would only do so as a last resort, poor attendance can result in roles being recast in order to ensure our production is the best that it can be.
A great deal of consideration is given to the rehearsal schedule, to ensure that we make the most of each session and our members’ time is not being wasted. Therefore, attendance at rehearsals is vital and notice of any absence is shared with us as early as possible.
We understand that emergencies and illnesses happen and ask that if you are unable to attend a rehearsal, you send your apologies to our Members’ Secretary (Faye Freeman) with as much notice as possible.
